Adventure at the Namúrachi y Nonoava canyon.

As a result of intense volcanic activity, the Namúrachi Canyon is located southwest of the capital of Chihuahua and less than 10 km from the municipality of San Francisco de Borja, a town founded in 1645 by the Jesuit order.

The main activities in Namúrachi Canyon are focused on ecotourism, starting with the journey required to reach the site. There, visitors can admire expansive landscapes that reveal the Namúrachi Dam, the San Pedro River, and the mountain range with beautiful natural viewpoints.

According to a Rarámuri legend, this canyon was inhabited by the Ganoko, a tribe of brutal giants who left several proofs of their existence such as the cave paintings in the Cueva de la Mona. It is also said that in this rugged terrain, many generals of the Mexican Revolution buried money, gold, or other valuable objects.

Another natural destination of great interest is Nonoava, a group of more than 300 caves that the Rarámuri people once inhabited. The spectacular rocky landscape offers the more adventurous visitor the ideal setting to explore and traverse via zip lines and a via ferrata circuit. Additionally, the experience of sleeping, dining, and even hosting events in some of the caves is offered.
