Rodolfo Fierro Lagoon

One of the most visited attractions is the well-known Laguna Fierro, where sports and recreational activities take place. This artificial lagoon, built by the Mormon community in 1885, is named in honor of General Rodolfo Fierro (right-hand man of General Francisco Villa) who sank and lost his life when trying to cross it on his horse and who, according to legend, was carrying sacks of gold that sank along with his rider.
