Some of History

This municipality delimits the border with the states of Texas in the United States and with the Mexican state of Coahuila. It was only created on December 11, 1937. It is a place where the San Carlos River and the San Antonio River meet with the Bravo River. In this place the Chihuahuan Desert can be seen in its entirety, delimiting the imposing Santa Elena Canyon with the Big Bend National Park.

Tradition and customs

The custom of roots takes refuge in this secluded place. In productive life, men and women go out to educate themselves and work abroad, because there are no opportunities locally, in the end, they always return to spend their golden years under the spectacular sky of the Chihuahuan Desert.
